2 Days – Wildlife Watch and Overnight at Khoasok Lake ( Private Trip )

Upon arrival at the pier, you will check in and get ready for your boat journey. The check-in process is smooth and efficient, ensuring you can quickly start your adventure. The boat ride to your destination, offering you a chance to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape as you make your way deeper into the heart of Khao Sok National Park.
You will board a traditional Thai Longtail boat to begin a sightseeing cruise across the stunning Cheow Lan Lake. As you glide across the water, you will visit the landmark known as the “Guilin of Thailand,” renowned for its breathtaking beauty and resemblance to the famous Chinese landscape. The cruise also includes a visit to Prakaipet Cave, where you can explore the impressive limestone mountain landscape from within. The natural beauty and unique formations will leave you in awe as you experience the serene and captivating environment.

The best time to spot wild animals along the river is just before sundown, as diurnal animals come down for water before dark. As well with nocturnal animals active joy the shoreline. Your captain and guide will take you on a late afternoon wildlife spotting expedition by boat. Animals move freely and do not follow a tourist viewing schedule, they will come to the shoreline for a drink. As the warm, soft light from the Magic Hour shifts the hue to blue, we will return to the accommodation for dinner.

Once you're back at your accommodation, a traditional Thai meal will be waiting for you. Please mention any dietary preferences, such as vegetarian options, or any food allergies when you book. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Surprisingly, the absence of electricity can enhance your experience on a clear night. Without light pollution, you can gaze at the stars and capture stunning images of the cosmos, depending on the season. Don't hesitate to enjoy the peace and solitude in darkness and marvel at the beauty of the night sky!

The bamboo rafting huts serve as more than adequate accommodation for adventurers looking to escape mainstream mass tourism. Slip into bed and catch up on some rest in preparation for an early morning wake-up call and tomorrow’s activities. The serene sounds of the rainforest will lull you to sleep (earplugs recommended for those who can’t sleep in an open area), ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready for another day of adventure.

Wake up early and enjoy coffee while experiencing the tranquil dawn. If the sounds of gibbons and birds haven't already woken you up (depending on the season), your guide will gently remind you. It's time to embark on an early morning wildlife spotting expedition before breakfast. Dawn is the perfect time to observe diurnal creatures as they begin their day.

Photographers particularly appreciate the Golden Hour's light for its warm hues and gentle contrast. During the first hour after sunrise, the soft morning light enhances colors and skin tones, while its low contrast reveals details in shadows, making it easier to capture the perfect exposure without overexposing highlights. While similar effects can be achieved through post-processing, the natural beauty of this light is unmatched.

Get ready for an incredible adventure! Your experienced guide will lead you on a thrilling trek through the lush rain forests and grasslands in search of elusive wildlife. While cruising on the lake is ideal for spotting elephants, guar, and other large animals that visit the shoreline, exploring on foot allows you to discover the smaller creatures of the jungle canopy and forest floor.

From gibbons swinging high in the trees to elusive Dusky Leaf Monkeys hiding in dense foliage, there's always something exciting to discover. Khao Sok National Park is home to around 200 species of birds, including nine of the world's 57 hornbill species. While spotting wildlife may be a highlight, keep your eyes open for carnivorous pitcher plants and delicate endemic orchids nestled among the trees.

Please note that your guide will select the best trekking route based on conditions such as lake water levels, recent rainfall, and your health condition. Remember, this is their natural habitat, not a zoo, so sightings are based on wildlife behavior and natural occurrences.

As we begin our journey back after a 3-hour hike, keep your eyes open for wildlife along the shoreline and in the sky. While cruising across the lake towards a floating restaurant, where a delicious, easy Thai lunch awaits, enjoy the scenery and keep watch for any wildlife sightings.

After lunch, take the opportunity to swim in the lake for a refreshing dip or simply relax and enjoy the leisurely  before journey back to the pier. It's a perfect time to reflect on the day's adventures and savor the natural beauty of Khao Sok National Park.

As our adventure draws to a close, your captain will navigate the Longtail boat back to the pier, where your minibus driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel. Please remember to gather all your belongings before disembarking from the boat.

Before departing for Khao Lak, take advantage of the facilities at the pier if you need a bathroom break. Reflect on the wonderful experiences and memories made during your time exploring the natural wonders of Khao Sok National Park.

Your driver and guide will  return you to your hotel around 6 pm, although the exact time may vary depending on weather conditions at the lake and the location of your hotel.
