Experience a whole day full of culture, religion, sightseeing, sounds and flavours… Visit together with us the three most important, most delightful and most interesting temples in the province of Phang Nga.

Our amazing three temples tour from Khao Lak:

Dragon Cave Temple: an impressive limestone cave that features local herbal medicine (to lower blood cholesterol) made by the residential monks.

Bang Rieng Pagoda Temple: a combination of three different temple styles – Thai, Chinese and Jedi. Being build up on the back of a mountain it offers a nice view. Another special feature; it keeps a tooth of Buddha in a shrine.

Manisii Maha Tat Temple: unmissable with a huge statue of the monk Por Than Klai and a beautiful main temple building.

But that’s not all. Of course we will stop at a beautiful local restaurant to give you the opportunity to try some delicious Thai dishes next to a river and mangrove jungle.

Wat Tham Phaya Nakarad, often referred to as the Dragon Cave Temple, is a hidden gem set high on a mountainside. This temple is unique, as it is not built in the traditional style of ornate Thai temples. Instead, it consists of a series of natural karst caves that serve as meditation spaces for monks. The caves provide a tranquil and cool environment, perfect for peaceful reflection, making it a popular spot for both monks and visitors seeking spiritual solace.

As you ascend the mountain, the view becomes more spectacular, revealing breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding area. Once you reach the top, the serene atmosphere of the cave temple makes the effort worthwhile. Historically, this temple was home to a solitary monk who attracted visitors seeking his herbal remedy, which was believed to aid in regulating blood pressure.

The combination of natural beauty and spiritual significance makes Wat Tham Phaya Nakarad a unique experience for travelers who want to explore a lesser-known side of Thailand's temple culture.

Wat Bang Riang, located atop Khao Lan Hill in Phang Nga Province, is one of the most stunning and unique temples in Southern Thailand. As you approach the temple, you'll be greeted by a grand staircase lined with Naga (serpent-like) sculptures on both sides. These sculptures symbolize the mythical serpent Mucalinda, who is believed to have sheltered Buddha from the rain while he meditated.

Once you reach the top, you’ll find an awe-inspiring Theravada Buddhist temple that overlooks a vast valley, framed by limestone mountains. This temple is especially notable for its blend of Thai and Chinese Buddhist influences. One of the temple's most remarkable features is the towering statue of Guanyin, the Chinese bodhisattva of mercy and compassion. Guanyin stands alongside a giant statue of Buddha, sheltered by a multi-headed Naga, creating a breathtaking view for visitors.

The surrounding temple grounds are filled with shrines, pagodas, and smaller statues, each offering unique insights into the religious fusion of the region. Wat Bang Riang’s peaceful surroundings and panoramic views make it a serene and spiritual destination, perfect for reflection and photography.

This visit offers not just an experience of Thai Buddhism but also a glimpse of Chinese Buddhist influence, all set against a backdrop of natural beauty.

Wat Bang Riang is not only a beautiful temple but also a vibrant center of community and spiritual life for the locals. It’s a place where people come to pay their respects, make merit, and participate in traditional Buddhist ceremonies. The temple’s striking statues of Buddha and various buildings serve different purposes for Buddhist rituals, adding to the depth and diversity of the spiritual experience.

As you explore, you’ll witness the deep connection between the temple and the local community, where generations have come to seek blessings, meditate, and uphold their religious traditions. This temple stands as a spiritual hub for the people of Phang Nga Province, reflecting the heart of Thai Buddhist culture and devotion.

After your temple explorations, we’ll take a break for lunch at the breathtaking Samet Nangshe Viewpoint. This stunning location offers panoramic views of the towering limestone karsts scattered throughout Phang Nga Bay. As you enjoy a delicious Thai meal, you’ll be treated to one of the most iconic views in southern Thailand—a sweeping vista of turquoise waters and rugged limestone formations, extending as far as the eye can see.

The serene atmosphere and picturesque scenery make this the perfect spot to relax and replenish your energy before continuing the day’s adventures.

After a day of spiritual exploration and breathtaking views, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Khao Lak. Enjoy the scenic drive as you reflect on the unique temples you've visited and the cultural insights you've gained throughout the day. We aim to have you back at your resort in time to catch Khao Lak's famous sunset.

Please make sure to collect all your belongings before leaving the minibus. From everyone at R You Go Thailand, thank you for joining us, and we hope to see you again soon!
